Chapter 4 Upon hearing what she thought was Shenandoah knocking at the front door of her Victorian, she took a deep breath, held it for a brief moment, and exhaled. The time had come to put up or shut up. She walked to the door, pushed herself up on her toes, and looked through the peephole at Shenandoah who was standing on the porch. Before opening the door, she took another deep breath, let it out, and then opened it, offering him her heart-breaker smile. Parris had already prepared herself for this night, having bathed and perfumed her exquisite body. While she would make love with Shenandoah, she was nevertheless nervous about the encounter because she had only been with Nelson. As a matter of fact, she thought Nelson would be the only man to enter her precious temple. But now, she had to let a different man in-a rich one. After all, sex with Shenandoah was a part of the game; marriage was, too, whether he knew it or not. She had drunk a tall glass of wine prior to calling Nelson, which she knew would make it easier to have sex with a man she didn't love. The wine was doing exactly what she expected it to do, lowering her inhibitions. And the bad-boy attitude Shenandoah displayed added to the overpowering stimulant. As soon as he saw her standing there in a red negligee with a plunging neckline, the Cialis kicked in. While most of the garment she wore was sheer, he couldn't see her erect nipples nor could he see her crotch, which made the allure more tantalizing. He stepped inside the house and manhandled the petite woman like he was Genghis Khan raiding an unprotected village. And when she didn't resist, when she didn't even flinch, he kissed her hard on the lips and she kissed back, slipping him her tongue and grabbing a hand full of his muscled body. While they were still in a tight wanton embrace, Shenandoah Armstrong reached out for the door with his left hand and closed it. Parris pulled her lips away, placed her smallish hands on his chest, and said, "Do you want to go upstairs?" Not bothering to wait for an answer, she took him by the hand and led him up the stairs to her bedroom, where the kissing began anew. This time, hands, both hers and his, were moving, too. However, Nelson Kennard was in the room with them, even though he was only in Parris' mind.
